Keep hands and feet in the ride at all times! 🎢 Our own Bobby Haines, Tony Ravignelli of @tra.design and Tom Poff of @shpdesign_ had the opportunity to attend a media day for one of our recent coaster projects, Iron Menace in @dorneyparkpr. Our team served as the EOR and worked with Sordoni Construction and park owners, Cedar Fair, to create the foundations for the coaster design provided by Bolliger & Mabillard Consulting Engineers. We also worked to design the queue, maintenance building and other miscellaneous structures. We`re so grateful to have worked on this project! The new ride is worth the trip to Allentown, PA. Bobby may or may not have ridden it seven times!

As we celebrate an amazing @utknoxville Vols basketball season, we are reminded of a past project created to honor one of the university`s greats. The Pat Summit Plaza project consisted of a decorative cast-in-place concrete retaining wall ranging in height from 11′-0″ to 25′-0″ tall. HSG utilized 3-D design and modeling to ensure proper alignment and construction and worked in close coordination with CRJA (recently acquired by @arcadisglobal) and @studiofourdesigninc to complete the project. The project was taken from design to completion in less than 4 months!

This award-winning project, known as "One Two One," involved renovating a historic building once home to JFG Coffee Company. We had the opportunity to work with Denark Construction, @designinnovationarchitects, and @hedstrom_la to preserve the character of the building while making necessary repairs in order for the space to be fully utilized again.
The project received a 2024 Orchid Award in the Redesign/Reuse category from @keepknoxvillebeautiful. These are presented to projects that "beautify and elevate the local landscape." The contrast between the old and new is a reminder of the importance of remembering the past while looking to the future.

At HSG, we strive to constantly learn and develop our software and skill knowledge. During a recent in-house training, the team gathered to learn about a new shear wall spreadsheet. This tool helps with design tasks, keeping everything organized and saves the team a lot of time!
A project not on land but on water! 💧 This stunning construction was truly a unique project for our team, featuring a steel-framed boat dock and impressive two-story wood-framed structure. We couldn’t be more thrilled to see our work on display at this beautiful private residence on the Tennessee River! We are honored to have worked with William Andrews Architects, @jmarchitects_design, Knoxville Barge, Inc., and @hickoryconstruction to bring this design to life!
