The Emergency Response Training Facility (ERTF) at the Oak Ridge Enhanced Technology and Training Center (ORETTC) in Oak Ridge, Tennessee, is a state-of-the-art facility that officially opened in 2023. Spanning 40,000 square feet, this facility is designed to provide extensive training for first responders worldwide, preparing them for high-consequence alarm response scenarios. The ERTF is equipped with advanced augmented and virtual reality training platforms, allowing trainees to experience extremely dangerous industrial emergency response scenarios without the associated risks. This state-of-the-art facility is structurally comprised of hot rolled hollow structural steel columns, steel braced frames, steel moment frames, composite steel beams, concrete slab on metal deck, and steel bar joists on the roof.
