The new Sunsphere Welcome Center in Knoxville, Tennessee, is a stunning enhancement to the city’s iconic Sunsphere structure. Officially opened to the public in 2024, this state-of-the-art visitor center is part of Phase II of a comprehensive plan to update and enhance the Sunsphere. Located on the third-floor level, which is at street level on Clinch Avenue, the Welcome Center offers an enclosed space with panoramic windows that provide remarkable views of World’s Fair Park. Inside, visitors can marvel at a unique skylight feature that allows them to look up and see the outline of the sphere. The primary structure of the Sunsphere Welcome Center is constructed with hot rolled steel and light gauge walls.
