overcoming believers church

– religious –

An existing 45,000 square foot warehouse building built in the 1960’s was converted into a new sanctuary for Overcoming Believers near downtown Knoxville.  This project was unique in that the existing building was upgraded to meet modern code requirements and several interior columns were removed to gain clear space for the sanctuary.  The columns were removed and replaced with long span joist girders with new foundations as required.  In addition to the building upgrades and column modifications, a new cantilevered entry feature and 65’-0” tall pre-cast prayer tower was designed and constructed within the existing building.  The tower extends approximately 45’-0” above the existing roof line and is structural independent from the existing building.
