The renovation of the historic Farragut Hotel into the modern Hyatt Place Knoxville Downtown was a landmark project completed in December 2017. This transformation focused on preserving the building’s historic charm while introducing contemporary amenities and design elements. Originally built in 1919, the Farragut Hotel’s iconic architectural features were carefully restored. The renovation included the reconstruction of the building’s façade, featuring large glass panels and steel columns that echo its original design, repair of damaged existing structural members, and many new openings for the required mechanical systems. Floors 2 through 9 were redesigned to offer spacious, comfortable rooms with state-of-the-art amenities. A rooftop bar was later added to provide breathtaking views of the Smoky Mountains.
